Syntax-Brillian Corporation was formed with the November 30, 2005 merger of privately held Syntax Groups and publicly held Brillian Corporation. The company expanded further with the November 21, 2006 acquisition of Vivitar Corporation. Syntax-Brillian trades under the NASDAQ market symbol: BRLC.

• SYNTAX
  Founded in May 2003, Syntax Groups Corporation commenced shipment of its high-value, cost-effective Olevia family of widescreen HDTV-ready LCD TVs in February 2004. Syntax achieved unparalleled success becoming one of the fastest growing brands in North America. Delivering on its mission to design and mass-produce digital convergence consumer electronics products with superior specifications and competitively affordable prices, Syntax rapidly established broad distribution.
• BRILLIAN
  With more than $100 million in research and development investments, Brillian Corporation was founded in 1997, as part of Three-Five Systems, Inc. (TFS). Brillian was spun off as a public company in September 2003. The company has a rich heritage in display design and manufacturing services. It was the first to offer a complete microdisplay solution and, as the first and only provider of Gen II liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS™) technology, it had a decided advantage in offering innovative digital TVs and other microdisplay-based products, such as projectors and near-to-eye display devices.
• VIVITAR
  Founded in Hollywood, Calif., in 1938 by two German immigrants, Max Ponder and John Best, Vivitar has grown from a regional distributor of photographic products to an international imaging technology leader. Originally known as Ponder and Best, the company became Vivitar in 1979, with its own brand name and an impressive list of patents and technological innovations. Vivitar's complete line of photographic products includes digital cameras, 35 mm zoom cameras, point and shoot cameras, auto focus cameras, 35 mm SLR cameras, manual and automatic lenses, flashes, binoculars, projectors, and camera accessories.
